Eildon Fishing Report

Lake Eildon is still firing; Clown and Pink Tassie in any variety flat line trolled are consistently picking up Brown trout from 1 to 2.5lb.

The prime area to target is from Jerusalem creek to the mouth of big river, with the main arm and Coller bay also having some success as well.

Good size Murray cod are taking surface lures between Big river and Goughs bay, while in the Main arm close to the banks spinner baits have worked on Murray cod up to 95cm.

A couple of anglers struck gold over in the Delatite arm, one landing 27 and the other 13 very nice yellow belly.

Soft plastics and vibe lure hard up against the trees was what worked for these guys as a bit of a by catch some nice reddies and the odd brown trout were caught as well.

The Eildon Pondage is back up around the 50% mark and the larger brown trout are still about. Home made dough, power baits, spider mud eyes, gold krocs, and small worms all worked over the long weekend.

The best areas to target are the river course at the back of the Eildon caravan park, the footy oval, riverside drive and the upper of the lower pondage.

Sounds a little like a repeat of last week but hey, when its fishing and its working there’s no need to change your tactics or methods.

Catch you next week
