Lake Eildon Fishing Report

Eildon Pondage is fishing reasonably well considering the amount of water that still passing through it due to environmental flows; fortunately for anglers targeting the Pondage these flows have started backing off at the moment.

The flow into the Goulburn River is currently 4500 and the Lake Eildon level is 62.1%.

The recently released rainbows are taking pink, rainbow, chunky cheese and lemon twist power bait and the local dough.

Some anglers using burley cages and the gold Kroc near the boat ramp in the Pondage have been doing quite well, some of these rainbow trout are going between 1 and 3 lb.
Flat line trolling pinks in Tassie Devils, King Cobras and stinger lures are still doing the damage on 1 to 2.5 lb brown trout; however there has been a 5 lber taken in the main arm as well this week, he was returned to fight another day.

Other areas that have had success this week for trout have been Coller Bay, Big River Arm, Jerusalem Creek and Goughs Bay.
Thirsty lures have done it again and caught another nice 85cm Murray Cod, the jointed Jackall lure also picked up a nice healthy Murray Cod going 56cm near the dam wall.
