Eildon Fishing Report

Angling in the Eildon Pondage has improved quite a bit now that the flows through it have stabilized.

Rainbows 300 to 450gm are being caught on lemon twist power bait near the Eildon Caravan Park; sherbet, salmon egg, chunky cheese and rainbow have also worked this week near the football oval and the upper of the lower pondage.

Lures such as the Gold Kroc, Pink Tassie, vibes the small hard bodies are also working, with one angler landing a nice 4lb brown trout over the weekend.

Small worms and spider mud eye are worth a shot in the pondage at the moment as well.

Up in the Lake ,the main arm has been the hot spot this week with anglers having great success flat line trolling Tassie Devils.

Pink are still number 1 but other colors such as green, phosphorous pearl and clown pattern are all catching trout as well.
The majority of brown trout are up to the 4lb mark, but the occasional 5lber is being taken as well.

Big River has seen brown trout caught around 2lb and soft plastics are working on good size reddies near Goughs Bay, with the old scrubbies picking up an 80cm murray cod near Jerusalem Creek.
All in all regardless of the weather Lake Eildon and Eildon Pondage are both showing great results at the moment.
