Lake Eildon has been a little sporadic this week; however those anglers that have persisted have been rewarded with some nice fish. Red fin, yellow belly and Murray cod are still out and about at the moment even with the lake temperature dropping a little.
Red fin have been caught in large numbers, but only a few big fellas, and are taking scrubbies close to trees in approx 30 ft of water. There is also the odd yellow belly being caught amongst the reddies near the trees as well.
Yellow belly and Murray cod are taking spinner baits, and frog and purple pattern deep divers near Jerusalem Creek, the mouth of big river, and the Delatite arm on the troll.
Trout are starting to show up more often with a nice 3lber taken near Jerusalem creek on scrub worms earlier this week.
Rainbow trout and brown trout up to 4lb are still taking assorted power baits such as lemon twist chunky cheese and the imitation salmon eggs, the best places to target have been riverside drive, the back of the Eildon caravan park and near the floating jetty.
The Rubicon, Big, Jamieson, Acheron and upper and lower Goulburn rivers have all been fishing well for brown and rainbow trout on soft plastics, celta type lures and small hard bodied lures as well.
