Eildon pondage has been on the high side this week, so there has been plenty of areas easy to access in both the upper and lower pondage. Near cemetery point pink power bait landed a nice 2 lb rainbow trout, power bait salmon eggs and rainbow were working near the footy oval and the 96 (Abigail) Tassie devil landed a very nice 6lb male brown trout near the gate in the lower pondage.

The lake is still doing well for brown trout with pink, clown and frog patterns working near the mouth of Big River and the yellow wings Tassie are working near Fraser camping ground. Murray cod between 40 and 50 cm, yellow belly and small red fin are taking motor oil soft plastics around the dam wall.

The Goulburn and its tributaries are still producing small but healthy rainbow and brown trout on scrubbies, Rapalas, bladed lures and soft plastics.

Now something anglers will need to be aware of is AGL have been calling on their entitlements quite randomly, which means the Goulburn river could go from 3-400 Meg to 4000 Meg very quickly. This has happened a couple of times already this week so take a bit of time and care when fishing the Goulburn River.
