Fishing Report 14th November 2019
Cod fever, yes the cod are on the chew .Cod from 35cm to over the metre mark are taking Atomic Slappa surface lures , purple Stump jumpers ,Primal spinnerbaits, Biwaa swim baits even Diawa RPM mid 10 hard bodied lures ,yabbies and scrumb worms .
Reports are far and wide spread around the lake , so the decision to launch the boat or bank fish is not limited and as the water warms it can only get better. The yellow belly have slowed mainly due to the sudden drop in water temperature but the bait seems to still be producing the most consistent catches , if you want to target theses on lures the big river arm and the deletite are the spots.
Trout are still being caught in the lake and the cold water that has ran off from the hills due to the rain and snow has helped keep these feeding and not going deep to avoid the rising water temperature , Tassie devils in clown and spotted dog Rapalas are worth a shot. The pondage has seen another 800 small rainbows released on Tuesday , powerbait in any colour will catch these the larger fish are still there so patience battling through the small ones and you should be rewarded, try lures like Peica ,Tassie devils ,wonder krocs and rattle snacks to keep away from these little fish .
The Goulburn is running at 1500meg and fishing very well for brown trout and still the stonker rainbows , scrub worms, mudeye ,maggots , and powerbait . Fly fishos using red tag, brown nymphs and white dunn are catching some nice brown and rainbows around the 3lb mark . The Rubicon is running very fast and hard to fish but snobs creek produced some nice 2lb browns up stream past the hatchery on small hard bodied style lures.
This weekend the Central Victorian Lure Casters Super Series is on at Jerusalem Creek and is opened to any fisho , so if you have nothing to do check out there facebook page for all the info .
Until Next Week Fish Hard
