Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year to all you Fishos out there. What an awesome two weeks fishing with metre cod being a regular in the lake, yellow belly and now some good reports of big redfin.

Murry cod are taking everything and anything that is being thrown, trolled or cast. Baits fishos are using yabbies, scrub worms, chicken, sausages and even cooked chicken nuggets. While slowly trolled spinner baits, large bibbed lures, large soft plastics and vibes are all working. All areas of the lake are producing with some huge fish being caught on the north side of the main arm in the coves that are protected from the boating activity, Jerusalem creek arm and the Delatite arm.

Yellow Belly and Redfin are schooling up in 6 to 15 metres of water in and around the timber and steep rock ledges. Yabbies and scrub worms as well as black soft plastic grubs, vibes and spinner baits are also working. Bank fishos fishing with yabbies and scrub worms into the night and first light are doing well for cod and yellow belly.

Eildon pondage has had a release of rainbows and they have fired up the brown trout that have been frustrating everyone of late. Local dough, Mudeyes, maggots, are taking brown trout around 3.5kg while powerbait and local dough are taking the new released rainbow.

The rivers are producing some nice pan sized browns and rainbows along with the odd large exbrood rainbows that were released in early September. Scrub worms unweighted in the slow running water and Mudeyes under a float along with spinners and shallow divers are all working.

Until next week

Cheers Craig
