“Choose your adventure”: LakeEildon.Com has re-launched with even more information and interactive features just in time to plan your summer holidays.
LakeEildon.com has long been a useful resource for locals and tourists when visiting the region. Launched in 1998, by a former Eildon local, James Anderson, it fast became the number 1 web resource for the Lake Eildon area, as it includes a comprehensive business directory, town history and information and local news updates.
Relaunching in time for Christmas and the 2017/18 summer season, LakeEildon.com has revitalised its content and usability, with the customer experience at its core. Tourists can now more easily find special deals and events that showcase the region when planning their holidays.
The website a one-stop shop for all things Lake Eildon. It includes things to do, Fishing Reports (created by local business, Eildon Bait and Tackle), easy-to-find special deals with local businesses, a water widget: daily dynamic updates to the water levels for those who holiday and play on the lake, and a regularly updated Events Calendar. Alerts will also be available in the event of weather events, such as flood or bush fire.
And in a positive development for the region, and its many businesses, It integrates state-of-the-art innovative Sky Tours technology which brings maps of the region to life. Not simply 360 degree aerial images, nor just an interactive tourist map, a Sky Tour is a truly unique online experience for tourists and returning visitors as it allows them to get to know the area with click through points of interest, the ability to fly to different areas in the region with a simple click, and a much better way of choosing their next holiday destination. For businesses, the imagery enhances the social media platform for viral online marketing campaigns, can be embedded into websites of local businesses, and bring in a different clientele.
LakeEildon.com continues to grow each year, with the depth and breadth of information expanding, along with its readership. LakeEildon.com receives over 21,000 hits to the website each month over the summer season (Dec – March). In the off season (Autumn-Spring), it sustains an average of 15,000 hits per month. LakeEildon.com is also linked into the Lake Eildon Facebook group, with close to 3,700 followers since being created last year, for online networking, forums and a way to connect instantaneously with other Eildon locals and visitors. Social media will be an ongoing focus throughout the coming 12 months.
Many local businesses are already using LakeEildon.com to its full potential, contributing content about events and advertising their events and services on site.
For those who who would like to learn more on harnessing its potential, or contributing to the region’s biggest and most comprehensive online tourist portal, please contact James Anderson directly at email@example.com to find out more.
