UGFM Marysville Studio New Home

On the 6th of November 2011 UGFM officially opened the new home of the Marysville Studio in the Resouce and Recovery building in the heart of Marysville. The studio was initially built in a portable building located at the temporary village established following theVictorian Bushfires with funds from the Lord Mayors charitable foundation and Regional Arts Victoria in May 2009.

The new studio was opened by the Chairman of VBRRA Ian Dicker AM and State Member for Seymour Ben Hardman MP and enables UGFM to provide easier access to community radio in the Triangle area. The studio will continue to provide ongoing recovery information following the fires and a local point of access for people living in the area to produce programs for broadcast live on UGFM across the Murrindindi Shire.

UGFM is hoping that more local residents of the area will now be able to train to become broadcasters and present programs from Marysville instead of travelling to Alexandra 40km away. UGFM would also like to some day establish a studio in Yea as well.
